Don't Quit Your Daydream

Never quit your daydream on a moonless night
as storm clouds gather and hide the light
of hope and desire for a better morrow;
cling to your daydream with all your might.

Leave behind the despair and sorrow
and look to your daydream with hopes to borrow
the inner strength needed for a brighter day
to freely walk through the fields of yarrow.

Always follow what your daydreams say
and let your aspirations lead the way;
never quit your daydream on a moonless night
and allow the darkness to betray.

Beautiful sage words and emotions dear John ! I agree wholeheartedly…. I love ~ never quit your daydream on a moonless night ! The whispers inside our soul that become daydreams are there for a reason .. quiet inspiration coming from within ! They are to be cherished. Big hugs my friend , Susan :)

Thank you so much for your visit and for sharing your thoughts, Susan. We must always keep those hopes and dreams alive inside, otherwise we might as well pass on to the next life. I appreciate you my friend, your poetry and art is always such an inspiration. Warm hugs, John

We must keep our dreams alive no matter what turmoil is taking place around us. As you say, there is so much more life to live. Have a wonderful Sunday. John

There is a lot of value in dreams, John. Whether they are deeply rooted in the past or in hopes of what will be. Your Rubaiyat frames them quite nicely. I've returned to the soup today, for however long.
