Don'T Give Up
Don’t give up at seventeen
should your world seem cruel and mean
people grow and they mature
uncertainty will be made sure
Don’t give up at thirty-one
when the world’s run out of fun
babies grow and debt recedes
one day, you’ll serve all your needs
Don’t give up at fifty-two
when they’ve all run out on you
Children won’t forget their past
as they seek their world at last
Don’t give up at sixty-nine
though it seems you’ve crossed the line
Silver days refine the heart
reflect, and then make that new start
Don’t give up at eighty-three
still you breathe, there’s much to see
love and spirit never die
Someday, you will find out why
