Don'T Forget Ukraine

For over three long months , the war has been raging
Against the Russians, the Ukrainian army are engaging
You can't help but admire them, for putting up such a heroic fight
Heavily out manned and outgunned, against military might.

But the west needs to speed up their shipments of artillery
So that Ukraine can match them, on the battlefield militarily
Vladimar Putin is a bare faced liar, a war criminal and a crook
Who has broken and trampled over, every rule in the book.

He's threatened to execute three members of Ukraines army
Accused of being mercenaries, but they're in the military!
It's a total sham trial and the whole world can see through it
It's Russian soldiers who are war criminals, a fact he won't admit.

Enough is enough the west, has to stop pussyfooting around
Or the world won't know peace until Putin's six foot underground
The world would be a much safer place, without him in power
Or are we just happy to dance, to his obscene tune and cower.

The war criminal Putin has threatened, to hit western supplies
NATO and the west should respond, and give him a surprise
Deliver those rocket launchers sharpish, to Donbas in the east
And give the Ukrainians a fighting chance, of beating the beast.

When this unjust war is over the imposed sanctions must stay
Ukraine will need a lot of rebuilding and its Russia who must pay
Other despots are watching closely, the tactics of Vlad Putin
The west must send a strong message that he's not going to win.

Thank you very much Kim, As with anything there's a danger of it becoming yesterdays news. We must keep supplying those much needed weapons so that Ukraine can defend itself. Tom

Thank you Gary, sadly I'm seeing less reports and it's slowly becoming the forgotten war. If Putin wins then there will be no stopping him. It's in the west's interests to give Ukraine everything to try and stop this madman. Tom

Tom, Your words are sobering and so important to hear and see in writing. You have been such a valuable champion writing and educating us all in your amazing poems. Your heart shines here. This situation is beyond unfair, and Putin must go, the sooner the better. I can't bear to see the atrocities and lies anymore. Thanks for keeping us all informed. Susan:)

What is truly sad is listening to other nations discuss their "support" for the Ukraine whilst "justifying" the need to remain on good terms with Russia "for the good of the nation". Do they really think Putin will be satisfied with conquering the Ukraine? Aloha!

Thank you very much Susan, it's heartbreaking watching the news reports about Ukraine, those poor innocent people killed all because of one physchopaths lust for power, the quicker he's gone the better, for all mankind. Tom

God bless you for reminding all of us Ukraine's fight against the dictator Putin. Yes, the west has done a lot but could have prevented this war as well. A man like Putin understands only of military might. Let the west provide more arms to the heroic people of Ukraine. God bless Ukraine and God bless you my dearest friend, Tom.

Thank you very much Demetrios, he doesn't even care for the lives of his own people. That said I won't shed a tear for his murdering scum army. The west needs to man up and start dictating to Putin because he seems to be dictating to the west. Tom

I'm still of a mind, from the beginning, that Europe should have signed them up as a member state, and threaten to invade on the stroke of midnight, to kick them out. You are right, thousand of unnecessary deaths.

I agree with everything that's been said here. The bravery of the Ukraine people is off the charts... but I'm not sure what they're end game is? Putin would have to die before this war will end... and though possible... will it happen? I'm not sure how many lives I would sacrifice on that faint hope.

Thank you David, there is a lot of rumours going around about his health but the scumbag is still breathing. The west should supply the most powerful artillery they have because at the moment Russia has that advantage. If he takes Ukraine he'll carry on elsewhere. Tom

Putin does allude to being another Peter-the-Great, patting himself on the back for Russianising McDonald's, overcoming blockades, stablising the ruble, and reclaiming the Ukraine. What we see is what a waste our investment in the United Nations has been! Russia has left Ukrainians with nothing to fight over, their homes have been destroyed and their land filled with corpses and explosives. So much for civilisation! Aloha!

Thank you Rico, the UN needs to be disbanded for they have done absolutely nothing to help Ukraine. I just can't believe we're letting him carry on with his illegal war. Talking and condemning does nothing its action we need from the civilised world. Tom

Thank you so much, Tom, for keeping Ukraine in the forefront of our international concerns. I agree that the sanctions should stay! If Putin lives, I think he should be punished severely in the international community. As for me, I hope he suffers a horrible end.

Thank you very much Milton, I believe sanctions should stay until he's either assassinated or his own people remove him from power and Russia must pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine. Tom

Nice one Tom, Putin’s nose is getting bloodier along with his hands, the longer this war drags on, I think putting the pows on that show trial, is another act of defiance and even desperation on his part, will he test our mettle and attack the west, perhaps, but it will be a major gamble, seems a long way to go in this one yet, cheers David

Thank you very much David, well so far Ukraine has stopped him in his tracks and he wouldn't be so stupid to think he could take on the west as well or would he. He seems to think he's Peter the Great, far from it. I for one will be glad to hear of his passing. Tom

Six feet underground sounds like a good plan for him, Tom. And I agree-- the sanctions must stay even after. Sad what he has done to a freedom loving nation. Will the world step in before it's too late (perhaps it already is). Keep writing Tom.

Thank you very much Vijay, the intelligence was that Russia would invade, why NATO didn't go into Ukraine for a military exercise is beyond me, It would have stopped Putin in his tracks and saved thousands of lives by doing so. I think there are a lot of our special forces in there already but staying out of the spotlight. I think Russia suspects that too but has no proof. There would be no shortage of volunteers to dig a cesspit to bury that scumbag in it. Tom

Hi Tom. The West 'shoulda and coulda' stepped in to stop the murdering and devastation months ago. I'm disgusted by the lack of intervention. I know there are repercussions to consider, and what ifs, but for the sake of humanity this has gone on far too long.

Thank you Jenna, I think the west holds back when Putin threatens this and that but we should have just gone into Ukraine and helped kick the Russians out without actually stepping on Russian soil. Still can't believe the world has allowed that madman to cause the deaths of thousands of innocent men, women and children. Tom
