Don't Dismiss Dreams
You felt you found love
as a naive youth.
And asked God above,
to confirm its truth.
Yet that love would fade
as the years slipped by.
But those feelings stayed;
and still makes you cry.
Breakups hurt so much
smiles morph into tears.
And you shun love's touch;
alone with your fears.
Unable to cope,
you douse passion's flame.
And imprison hope;
deflecting the blame.
Once hope dims its light,
love cannot find you.
And strays out of sight,
when you're feeling blue.
Despite what it seems,
your life is not through.
So, don't dismiss dreams;
love may yet find you.
