Notes About The Poem

Don'T Blame the Quiche Lorraine

Sleep I can’t feign. I hear the falling rain
tapping a refrain on the window pane.
My throbbing pain recedes and I obtain
relief from the migraine which had free reign
like a freight train, a cause for mental strain.
Drat the champagne! Don’t blame the quiche Lorraine.

Sorry to hear of Julie's ordeal, Susan. If not mistaken, mitochondrial disease effects body organs and loss of energy; I will look it up after I send this off. I will keep you both in my thoughts & prayers. I too have not been very active on PS; mostly the fault of my computer and poor internet reception. Accessing Soup has been a nightmare! Warm regards // paul

Hi my dear friend Paul! My lovely daughter, Julie has been hospitalized since Saturday for complications from her mitochondrial disease... so my time on PS has been limited and my muse has been on hold as well... I hope all is well with you my wonderful friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
