PLACED SECOND

Turning sideways, once more I lay crouched in bed, Not compelled to wake up and run round the clock. The family, gone on a four-day adventurous trip. Left to myself, may I devour this calm with none to block. Listening to the hiss of falling rain, here I lie. The breeze that steals in through the window ajar, Tousles my hair and briskly passes, I hear a Bulbul warbling from a tree afar. Snuggling beneath my woolly blanket, With deadlines none, I feel so light. Lazily watching the sun beams filtering down, I lie quiet, my mind, like a bird in flight. Now the house is empty with my own space, To indulge in all fanciful things that gladden, To indolently watch the time slipping by, To hum and sing in gay abandon. Loneliness, at times I warmly embrace, When exhausted with life’s ceaseless mess. At times I crave for dolce far niente It sure can revamp lives with occasional recess.

Such a beautiful in-depth piece, where there are days that are needed to release stress and to just sleep in and relax; listen to the birds hum their sweet songs. What a lovely poem Valsa.

Simply magnificent poem. With ill health, I have spent too much time just indolently doing nothing. But I must force myself to read and write. Quite an original poem.

Aw dear Valsa, I can very much relate to this. Though I love family time especially talking to my son whenever he is not busy... I love very much to embrace loneliness, at times... when my thoughts wander.... so unbound. This is such an excellent write that flows so well with good rhymes. Best wishes in the contest....Hugs... ~ Ani

Your poem, Valsa, is absolutely breathtaking. It captures a fleeting moment that feels everlasting, shimmering with tranquility, and a profound introspection that embraces our very souls. It's like a glimpse where we escape the chaos of the world and savor these precious moments for ourselves. The way you choose your words and perspective to paint vivid pictures and evoke various interpretations is truly unique, delightful, and even humorous.

Oh my, this is such a therapeutic and enchanting piece with delicate shades of imageries and descriptions, there's so much to absorb in every line that you've so artistically carved.. A moment, so fleeting, yet so eternal, iridescent with peace and subliminal self-reflection and embrace for one's own soul.. It purely sounds a time lapse from the chaos of the world and stealing those moments for our own heart.. So beautiful dear, love this so much :)
