Doing the Splits
Got knickers in a twist doing the splits 
Tearing my trousers and hurting my hips
Hubby made hullabaloo 
Turning the atmosphere blue
And now I’m hobbling around on two sticks.

Holy smokes, Belle.sorry to hear of this…I was in Hospital for three months at16! But for skeletal issues. I had a tutor and my roommates were international. There were even Siamese twins separated.I saw them after surgery. The saddest part was a boy, my age, 16, died from cancer,I can still see his face, he was beautiful and we joked a lot.but I was heartbroken when he passed. I-had a friend who not only did the splis but could wrap her legs behind her neck, thank yoo for rekindling these times! xxx

Neither could I do the splits, Pangie, but then I was in hospital for three months with a septic hip at twelve years of age, was never agile again. Thank you, Belle

Sometimes it is best to let others do the exercises for the young as we relax in the recliner or do our chair yoga. Thanks for the humor today and the visit to my page. Sara

Oh my goodness, lol, I can almost relate! It's been awhile, but the memory flooded me as I read this. Almost thirty years ago now, I tried a cartwheel, though not the splits, thank goodness! That trick left me with memories very much like this. I learned then, the hard way, my youth had flown. Oh the memory of pain!! My hubby didn't laugh, he was not amused at all! But the kids sure did! It took me a week or two to get over that trick. Hilarious image in your poem Belle :D
