"doggone Dog Contest"

As fate would have it Big Joe was his name,
That was his only claim to fame
He was quite a wee dog
Birth not meant as a watchdog
Efforts were futile to have him rename...

*I still remember he had
a stubborn demeanor even
though he was so small"

oh my goodness, it was one that maybe was used in one of my contests a long time ago and I didn't place it. Sorry about that, sweetie. It is a cute poem, but I am always hung up on exact meter! So he was a tiny dog named Big Joe? how funny. Hope to see you try one of my acrostic contests. Luv, Andrea

You did a fine job on this one Wilma. I find these so difficult to write, I just can't come up with one for the contest. Aloha, Connie

How dare you rhyme dog with dog!!! lol Actually I have met a lot of tiny dogs like this. Probably why I own a Staphshire Pitbull- even though he is like a house cat most of the time ;^)

Maybe he was named for having a "big" temper, Wilma? Still, it must be odd to see a chihuahua or miniature poodle type of dog named "Big Joe." Cute limerick and I wish you success in Andrea's contest. Love, Carolyn
