I know you're out there I can hear you ... typing, rat-a-tat-tat I echo it, but place with intent each finger-step just SO each notion a necklace of keystrokes individually-knotted pearlescent beauties, round ... ~ I squeeze my mind of chaos, tamped and blessed Thoughts gossamer, these tapestries I've pressed 'Tween leaves of crimped reprieves, if dispossessed ~ I scream without a face my voice of subtle silence howling windward I scratch messages on cell walls my red breath burnt with the truth of negligence exquisite sculptures ... the words dripping like stigmata Madonna's bloody tears, each precious ... ~ I place these golden dreams in phrased bequests Bright dazzled shining gems of hearts expressed Adorned with tender odes to thrum their breasts ~ How do SUCH ears not hear? How can such breath-embezzling eyes not capture?!? Congratulations on your win. I love your line, "That you and yours are pleased to kick the chair." So sad, people do this all the time to each other. Enjoy your win, enjoy day.......

Greg, such an amazing write of raw emotions. So happy to see this reach #1 in the hands of a tough, but very intelligent judge, congrats!. P.S. My earlier comments didn't take into account the real possibilities you were writing a fictional account or writing on behalf of another person. Hope I wasn't too far off base. Just wanted you to know I care. Hats off! John

I'll neither shake the fist nor kick the chair / but shed the noose, inviting you sit there / and spin your tales in verse. For yes, I care. I love your talent to channel such raw emotion into such pearlescent beauties, Greg. I appreciate the hybrid of free verse and the monorhymed IP tristich. Always amazed at your genius. ~ John
