Notes About The Poem

Does Anybody Care

Does anybody out there care that the world is falling apart? And kids get shot and killed in schools by other children, toting guns. Politicians are liars: yet does anybody out there care? They'll let climate change ravage our overpopulated planet. As human interactions wane, folks connect through the internet. Does anybody out there care about social skills anymore? Scientists forecast droughts and plagues, and still, no one seems that concerned. Given the fact that all could die, does anybody out there care?

Seems that topics such as this create a void in trying to cover so much in such a short space. You did a very good job by enticing the mind to travel further. Great work.

I think, People do care about it; But they feel unable or too small to make any changes. But they forget “It is the small droplets that make the ocean.” Overall, great work . I am preety much affected.

It is a huge effort. There are minuscule efforts, will those be acknowledged or recognized? My world is small and personal, I feel it one way, someone with vast knowledge and wider perception would explain in different way. But both lead to a way- a way toward progression, not a word to humiliate or manipulate. Thanks for your poem.

We see our planet in a state of decline and wish there were more we could do to protect it, Emile. If enough people "care," then global warming and pollution will be addressed. We're running out of time to save Earth. Excellent poem! Best wishes, carolyn

Have always loved the quatern for emphasis. You did it beautifully Emile with a sincere pledge for someone to step up to the front lines and act. Thanks for sharing.

Great poem that addresses all the immediate and future concerns! Well compiled. Thanks for setting an example for the contestants to follow. I shall see if I get the inspiration to write on the topic. Currently quite dismayed by world politics in general!

Good message Emile. It seems to me like the human race, and in turn the world is going through a real and terrible transition. But it also seems to me as cruel as it seems that we need to go through it to replenish all that we have taken away. It is surely a time for us to let go and at the same time give back. It is an awkward dance. Thank you for all the great words! Lonna

I think people do care they just feel powerless to make changes when the politicians don't listen to help us change the laws. We recycle most everything and conserve water, things that the general public never used to think about. Excellent example Emile. xxoo

excellent message and form that you used for it, emile. yes, we are going to feel the horrible effects one day. I think we just go through our days living in the now because it's all too scary to think about. I am so glad you liked my sonnet. Thanks for the win.

A powerful write, Emile. Very current. I like the quatern form and how smoothly you inject the refrain at different places within the quatrain. Maybe check the spelling of 'no one' on line 14? Cheers ~ John
