Great minds think alike - we both wrote on the subject of Frankenstein (just from different angles). Yes, body parts were great business back in the day - it does not bear thinking about HOW they were obtained.

The Gothic genre was well established by the time she wrote it and all the vogue. Graverobbers were not unusual, though against the law. People were paid to watch over the fresh graves of loved ones for that very reason. I plowed through it as one of my setwork books during college - luckily our professor had given us noted on it - much like AI would summarise a book analysis nowadays.

Haha - yup! Graveyards, right? Or schools of medicine? Or black market? I never read the original Mary Shelley Frankenstein. I started it, but the nineteenth century language overwhelmed me. I must say, she created one of the best known and best...well, best known fictional characters of all time. It was a work of fiction, right?
