Do You Remember Me

Do you remember me?
Do you remember all the memories we shared?
Do you think about them as often as I do?
Time has elapsed and we've been forced to move on
But I lay awake and I wonder
Do you remember me?
Do you look back fondly on us?
It hurts knowing you have your own life
Without me
But I know it's for the best
It's so tempting to bring you back in
To tell you one last time how I feel
To do everything I can to hold you
To keep you close to my heart
But for now I'll settle
On knowing you haven't let go of the memories
Let us live together in our thoughts
In our minds
In our hearts
Remember me, and it'll be enough
It has to be
