Do You Make Love to a Rap?

One Christmas tree light in a darkened room, as 45’s spin you grind, shuffle or clap. Slow drag songs passioned folks with Smokey’s croon. Tell me now, can two make love to a rap? Girl over there, “Oh Baby’s,” going too far. Smokey’s singing and she’s on some boy’s lap. Motown music reigns as conquering czar. Tell me true, do you make love to a rap? Sweet love, love, love made the disks go around. Such poetry in the words they would sing. Memories of tender moments in sound. Tell me, is there passion in rap’s sting? Love songs are slightly, in a social trap. Tell me, true, do you make love to a rap?
