Do Not Look Behind You
Do not look behind you
She is there
Just one look you are cold stone.
Yes it is her
Pitiful Medusa
With her icy glare.
But was she not a fair maiden once
Who was by the temple of Athena
When she was robbed of her humanity?
Yes, that is what they say
A story off the scrolls of tragedy.
And what became of the beast
This sick, shameless Spaniel
That robbed her of her humanity?
Nothing I know but I am sure
He did not have to pay a price
Higher than silver and gold that Medusa paid.
Pity that she had to face such a fate
Who knows what would have become of her
If this sick fate had written something else in the stars?
It is this cursed world we live in
You seek justice at each corner
And you question whether it truly exists.
