Do As I Say
Do as I say,
Not as I do.
You think I am Holy,
If you only knew,
How I lust and lie and gossip and hate.
While trying to act like a pious priest,
You will never find a bigger phony,
A two faced hypocrite to say the least.
It is not my intention to be untrue,
But I was born in sin,
The harder I try to be pure,
The faster I fail again.
My broken heart worries over this,
Ashamed of letting God down.
Will I go to heaven?
And wear a golden crown?
By the Grace and Mercy of our Lord,
He lets me take his mighty gentile hand.
I can overcome my shortcomings,
Led by faith to the Promised land.
Can this be true?
No one is perfect and will never be
I must accept this truth
Only the Grace of God will set me free
