Distant Rumblings

Distant Rumblings

Distant rumblings
tug at my permanence.
Muffled metal
click-clack
of worn track,
soft metronome
of travel.
Iced roar
crystal contrails
plotting a course
through the heavens.
Far away hum -
rubber kissing
asphalt avenues
of escape.
Distant rumblings
tug at my permanence.
