Notes About The Poem

Trois-par-Huit

POD 6 December 2025

Disarray

Sun reflect— soporific effect of sultry, languorous afternoon. A photo album, open in an attic room, of my family and dear friends gone all too soon. Phantasmagorically fey— gallimaufry in stray disarray.

Very nice, Suzette! We all get to the point where the loved ones we’ve known most of our lives have passed on. It is truly strange, I do set my eyes on the new generation but that likewise in strange thinking about leaving them, one day, behind. Hugs and belated congrats on POTD!

I think that it is a universal feeling of what are we leaving behind as most of us have striven to improve on what we had inherited.

Dear Suzette, Congrats on POTD! t's like the past isn't neatly filed away, it's right there, a jumbled, beautiful and poignant collection of faces and moments that still hold power in the stillness of an afternoon. Autumn Blessings, Dear Suzette, Daniel

' A photo album, open in an attic room, of my family and dear friends gone all too soon. ' With the image you have chosen, these words create the mood and they curl softly around my heart. So tender and emotional. Congratulations Suzette, on Poem of the Day. Hugs, Brandy

Suzette, I was moved by your poem’s reflective, gently mournful tone. Your use of “fey” brought to mind the ‘fairy fay’ lyric from the folk song Polly Wolly Doodle (a small glimpse into how my mind works). Congratulations on Poem Of The Day!
