Notes About The Poem

I own -- the forthcoming groan...

'dis Honest Andy

Andy Griffith used to tell us
Sanka is 97% caffeine-free
  and g-o-o-d!

Yet he never mentioned
That it's 'Instant Coffee'
  not br-o-o-d

lol Loved Andy Griffith. Never missed a show. But my hubby did NOT like Sanka. He preferred his coffee to be "The Real Thing." Thanks bunches Gershon. This one left me with a smile on my face. God Bless, JB

Never heard of Sanka or Andy Griffith but my grey cells got around those lapses… and enjoyed your wordplay. Smart! Terry

Heh, heh. As my kids and used to say, back in the day: Opie wan Kanopie, your diaper is a soakie. (Can you believe it? We used to laugh for days at that. Oh, well...) ~ Different Strokes

Debra, the play on words comes from the old Irish neighborhoods of the South Side of Chicago, where people talk about Chicago's sports teams 'dis way:' 'Da Bears,' 'Da Bulls,' 'Da Cubs,'... You get the idea. ~ Distinctively Chicago (South Side Irish)
