Oh, Doris...this is just a wonderfully entertaining work that peaks the imagination and adds a bit of wry humour to the coming Springtime gardener's repertoire. As a longtime lover of Japanese forms, I fully respect your apparent talent. I do not know it this site offers the distinction between Haiku and Senryu, but if it does, the human element makes this one a Senryu. Nevertheless, it is splendid work. A big smile of appreciation to you, Fine Poetess! Rascal

I do so love my garden and sit for many happy hours in summer among the blossoms. Love the birds, bees and butterflies that come to them. Thanks so much for your comments on my latest post. So nice to know the sisters will get to grow up together. God Bless, JB

Enjoyed reading this one.. Yes, getting it in the ground and keeping it worked out is hard but the rewards are wonderful..The roosters that I was refering to are the fighting roosters across the creek you know when they get in the ring and fight but it also has a kind of metaphorical meaning as well..Mom
