Diamond
Billions, of years,
Diamonds forming,
Deep within the volcanic earth,
Savagely smoldering gasses and vapor,
Violently erupting kimberlite rock,
Blasting high temperatures,
Surfacing this precious stone,
That makes men risk their lives,
With blood! Pain! Death! Murder,
Sometimes under the earth,
Sometimes deep under water,
Toil, and sweat, in poor conditions,
To becoming a multi-billion dollar market,
Fetching beauty, glamor, and sophistication,
People have become so attracted to this stone,
Becoming a statement of luxury,
The diamond that sparkles like no other gem,
It would cause people to steal,
For a piece of its action,
This volcanic rock has become,
The Holy Grail of life.
So that women can still say,
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend,
Unknowingly for the cost,
To human life.
