Dharma (Etheree)

One little morning peep she would speak to greet my day, my sweet African Grey . . . She was my friend, my confidante. I bottle fed my baby bird and . . . . we would sing. Such joy she brought me in her sweet way. My precious friend died today. For the "Blink Contest" Sponsored by: John Heck Note: ***My daughter lives alone with her two pet Siberian Huskies and her 2 and half month old African Grey Parrot she named Dharma. Jennifer called me this morning at 5am crying to tell me that her little bird died at the Vets. I wrote this Etheree in her honor.

Dharma may indeed have through such love evolved to a level where s/he returns to visit on ocasion. Life will evolve, it is inevitable. Love will break through, like grass will break through concrete, to astonish and remind us that our visions are more powerful than our sleeping minds can imagine. And perhaps our animal friends come to us, never forgetting our love. I talk to my little Pebbles who I had to have put down recently. I speak to her sometimes just in case to let her know I remember.

What a heart-touching and beautiful poem, Connie, this is one that will win John's heart as well. ps...my husband and I lost a dear sweet Siberian Huskie just over a year ago. She (Kielev was her name) was the smartest dog we have ever had...she could read my mind. But I've never had a parrot. Amazing how pets can know us so well. I'm sorry about Dharma...

This is very touching indeed, Connie! It totally broke my heart when our pets died-- haven't really gotten around to getting dogs again... a sweet tribute to what I'm sure was an adorable pet bird...wish you the best in the contest--hugs-- nikko :)

The reader can feel the happiness your daughter received from her parrot, Connie. A beautiful etheree and I wish you success in John's contest. I'm sorry I sent you a message on Facebook; you told me before that you only use it to see friends' pictures and I forgot. Maybe you can get together with your daughter and offer a little companionship today. Love, Carolyn

That is the problem with pets. We become as attached to them as to our families. Well constructed work. Love Matthew
