Destiny

Why me?
    Stranded on hard ice, alone
    Sun's cold light false hope
Howling wind cuts soul and bone
Destiny
Lost frozen feet walk, no bliss
    Silent prayer their guide
Miracles born in darkest corridors whisper and kiss
Destiny
Life at last ! Coming fast !
Planet of eat or be eaten, knife in hand
Suddenly strength of 10, Bear meat though arm needs cast
Destiny
Two hundred miles, a cabin, maybe a Coors ?
Instead of a Coors, Trapper's murderous eyes wait till I sleep
I awake, tied to a bed, sound of chainsaw roars
Destiny
     Lunatic approaches, sinister smile
Prey has fallen into his trap
Want to be away from here, at least a mile
Destiny
A stumble, a fall, chainsaw cuts rope, life at times fair !
     I'm free, strength of 10 again !
I give trapper coffee, while he is tied to his chair
 Destiny

Came back here to tell you that this is noted as your best work at Soup! Did you know that? I sure have liked it a lot!

Whew, Bruce, I'd be wanting quite a few beers after days like that. Nicely done; cheers, Doug.
