Robert, haiku are fun, at first, until you find out the strict rules, the mind changes...LOL... I was a haiku fanatic when I first thought to write a haiku. Now I call my haiku.. Ghetto -Ku ...thanks for the reply

Rules my friend are made to be broken. So says the rebel in me. Lived a wild, young life as a rebel and paid ever so dearly for it. I have much to learn here at this site but also have a huge wealth of long and hard living , most of it very wild , to impart perhaps tidbits of wisdom from..

Thank you my friend. I've only ever done two haiku, both here. I now find joy in writing them when so motivated . Time is a very precious commodity with me my friend. I tend to desire to write my usual 16 lines in rhyme with some emotional memory as it's foundation. Old dog, old bone, sees his heart resting in life's old, comfortable little home.

Well written haiku, such as yours here, summons emotion from great depth. So much said in so few words confirms great talent.
