Departed

He left her side
Going... She knows not where

The last sound of footsteps
fading away

But... He will come back

Looking through old photographs
Love letters and places

He will be back.

He will come back to her caring arms
Her compassionate eyes
Their secret ways and her smiling face.

He will be back

A little bit too early

A little bit too late.

Far too late

Far too late to unlock the door to his desired faith.

Far too late for begging apologies

No one has ever returned from the dead.

Just a poem :)

I know, I read this when you wrote it, but I wanted to see it again. This one is full of hope, sadness, hope, and regret. It's dismal beauty paints a picture that mirrors this cold dreary day, but it touches the heart, because you know the love in the memories and the wanting.

Hello, Charmaine! I read your poetry over a year ago. You are the reason I joined the soup a month ago. I had no idea I could be a member. Your poetry is total beauty and magic. Thank you for being! And the beauty you share. Love, Panagiota Love, Panagiota

Charms, you paint pain as authentically as anyone I’ve read.. I hope that’s not pulling from personal experience. You are too lovely in every way to ever suffer such!

Hi Charmaine, a deep poem with such powerful emotions displayed. There are many words I wish I had taken the time to say to loved ones that have passed. I love the content of this little gem Charmaine. Have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs....Mike. XX

I did a similar collaboration with Judy about death, will be posted soon.. You captured the emotions deeply and emotively... Sadly when someone has gone, there are so many words left unspoken.... Great poetry Charmaine..
