Denturn Poetry - Finding Me

*********** I have always tried to be me. I had no choice in the army. Six and a half years, had enough! The discipline, stupid, not tough! To ware a non-existent mask, A farce, a tad too much to ask! The one I had, being tested. The Sargent knew but insisted! Enough! I was a signaler first class. My job, mobile command, my task? A radio operator. Both, tank driver, navigator. A well-greased cog, dedicated. Also trained to kill, yes, hated! One year out found true love, happy! Found all, a wife, family, me! **********
