The Eagle Survives
In this tumultuous political climate
I find both parties irrelevant and obsolete
They do not speak to me or my families’ needs
Neither do they consider our suffering
Day after day immigrants look for respite from expulsion from the country,
Of unreasonable higher food costs and inequity of daily life
Their arguments for immigration expulsion aren't compelling
and not in the best interest of the America we want to be
And what evil demon thought it was a good idea to separate families
and put their children in cages; Nazis did that to Jewish families
I cannot drink the Kool-Aid this Caucasoid serves in fake golden goblets
I cannot and never would
We, the people, are in mental turmoil confused by the crises he foments
This country is in chaos and his inability to empathize hurts the nation
He's waiting for Putin to give him the go-ahead on his Trump Tower
he hopes to build in the middle of Red Square in front of the Kremlin
He speaks in tongues foreign to the human heart and spirit
His arrogance has dragged our national integrity through the muck
The Constitution is clear and doesn’t need to be re-interpreted
The Bill of Rights do not have to be changed, just followed
Our country is in serious social flux, in hazardous danger
Our Constitution and Bill of Rights are in danger of becoming irrelevant
This administration has destroyed our national veracity
Forgetting the basic thread that ties us all something he has never known
Humanity! The welfare of people is what life and this nation is about
with integrity at its root, the societal heart beats stronger
Our life is not a valuable Royal Delft Blue Vase filled with fragrant gardenias
we bleed daily for family, neighbor and country; if not we should
We are not part of his elite extravagant life style, but
We do share the last bastion of what Democracy promises and what this
Republic is laboring to attain in this calloused inhuman political
atmosphere, the privileged never stop trying to take our liberties away
Being vigilant is not to have us relax but be smart and alert
Grifters, shysters seek positions in government to enhance their wealth
People should know America's Freedom is for everyone and not only for the Caucasian elites
The Eagle of Freedom forever struggling will rise from this abyss
Count on it
We are made of sterner stuff
