Delusional

Thoughts of being a jester
an ability to make people laugh,
turned out to be a total disaster
no one laughed not even the staff,

an ability to make people laugh
just a titter even a smile a grin,
no one did not even the staff
coldness sending me into a tailspin,

just a titter even a smile a grin
a modest glimmer of appreciation,
coldness sending me into a tailspin
no one shows any sort of emotion,

a modest glimmer of appreciation
even if only out of sympathy,
no one shows any sort of emotion
feeling this undesired apathy,

even if only out of sympathy
turned out to be a total disaster,
feeling this undesired apathy
thoughts of being a jester.

Interesting poem, Roy. I think that being a comedian must be one of the hardest and most stressful jobs.

Well said Roy. It all depends on the mood at the moment I guess. Sometimes what we say in jest is taken literally and that can change everything. I guess we just have to be careful about what we say and who we say it to. A big 7 from me. Good stuff. God Bless, JB

Love the theme you chose for the poem Roy - I have found it too as humour is subjective and what we may find amusing other's do not:-( hugs Jan xx
