Delight In Love's Song
Enraptured by sweet lover’s song,
your words caress and comfort me;
I now can see
it’s where I always have belonged –
my home within your heart
where freedom reigns and true love never parts.
I’ll dance with you beneath the moon,
though daylight will be ours to share -
we’re almost there!
The moment, love, will be here soon
when hearts and souls combine
and restless longing leaves our weary minds.
‘Til then, my thoughts remain with you
adrift on clouds and higher still;
and, through this will,
I’ll find the strength to see me through
one final day without
your heart so true it leaves no room for doubt.
Now fear no longer plays a role
in all I think and do, or say;
it could not stay.
In its defeat I gain control,
else dreams would pass me by
and never would I gaze into love’s eyes.
Walk with me now and take my hand
by day and underneath the stars;
the world is ours
and beckons love to take a stand.
I never will deny
that love walked in and gave me wings to fly.
