Deeply Darkened

Deeply Darkened Deeply darkened, yet slightly lit, Was the route I took, while the moonlight gleamed. It carved a direction of glittered flares, As I danced and murmured a hint of mystique. I was not human, nor kindred soul, But just a mere shadow of all the hearts gone wrong. I was not myself for who would I be? For to be a symbol of something, I must be it all! No blooming flowers or glimmering sun, Just obscurity of vision for my heart to feel low. For I could have done no right or no wrong, From step to step, no morality did I own. It’s nights like those that I felt so at home, For the emptiness of sorrow doesn’t sit still. It flies with the wind and waivers above, Looking for deeply darkened pathways to let out its yearning howl. 30 July 2018
