Deeper Than Surface Tissue
we've talked about cloning
about organ exchange
about mutual surgical self-satisfaction
about attachments made deeper
than flat vows & false purity
deeper than surface tissue
as deep into blood & bone & entrails
as amatures can get
before the stitches
stop holding their ground
against blood loss
& deeper than this
if we can find a doctor
who's not too attached
to traditional morals
but even if there's nothing
more binding between us
than a few trails of ink
i'll always taste your heart
in your kiss
& lick the last vomited blood
from your dying lips
