Bags packed, emotions high, vows said I do Commenced on marvelous honeymoon day My love now owned my life, isn't it true Vows made to him, promised never to stray Commitment to follow where he would go In my heart, God also knew, my love grew Husband dear, mate for life, my earthly beau. Jesus my Redeemer, who brought my breakthrough My eternal love, I'll follow in spirit. Earthly love whose spiced scent I follow Whose right arm has lifted me when near it Can't go with me or I him through the hollow Those vows exchanged until death do us part In our future life, we'll have a perfect heart Date: 8/2/2022 Sponsor: Sotto Poet Contest: Rhyme Rumi Quote It is a rhyme even though it is a sonnet. !4 Lines, approximately 121 words We'll soon celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. Both have bodies that are falling apart, but our inner spirit is being renewed within our hearts.

Belle, Thank you. I read it is the diamond. If a couple are two lumps of coal in which are diamonds by the 60th anniversary, they should be exhibiting at least diamonds in the rough. They should have helped polish each other to a good shine. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

my husband has never done a special thing for ANY anniversary. Even our honeymoon sucked. I am sure it will be a big fat nothing!

Andrea, We went on a vacation all by ourselves for our 50th anniversary. I think we went somewhere one other time after the children got grown all by ourselves so that was a special treat. Now with the viruses going around, I don't know what is safe anymore. You should do something special for your 50th anniversary. That is the golden one isn't it. This year will be our diamond one. I appreciate your reading my works all these years and taking time to comment. Sara

Andrea, Well, we have to accept them for who they are and pray that God will help us make it through. God will change him if he is willing to change and ask for God's help. Mine has his good points and his bad, but I think the good outweighs the bad. I know I am imperfect as well and need some changing. Thanks for the visit. Sara
