December brings the snow and ice Early morning frosts; the trees are bare Stay inside, keep warm heed my advice. If you venture out you'll pay the price I'm so snug inside without a care December brings the snow and ice. The snow is falling it looks so nice I won't risk driving ; I wouldn't dare Stay inside, keep warm heed my advice. The weather warning was very concise Don't venture out don't go anywhere December brings the snow and ice. I've ordered hot pizza; can't wait for a slice I answer the front door to a blast of cold air Stay inside, keep warm heed my advice. I look out my window not once but twice A mesmerising scene I can't help but stare December brings the snow and ice Stay inside, keep warm heed my advice. Written 23 June 2020 For Month Of The Year I like Most Poetry Contest Contest judged 18 July 2020. N/A recieved. For July n/a or hm poetry contest Sponsored by Constance La France Awarded 1st place

Even hot pizza doesn’t suffice! Grab’n go...back inside! Glad it’s warming up here. Still a few chilly nights.

With all the joy, love and wonders of nature, December is the only month that brings warmth in chill. The breeze that makes us shiver or the lights that twinkle on frosty nights seem blissful for sure. A month of miracles for me. Congratulations on your win Tom :) This is a fave for me!

Hi Tom I enjoyed the break in your memorable account of December's icy hold with the arrival of hot pizza. Fine fine contrast. Pizza seems to have near universal appeal. Winter not so. Best wishes Brian

I really like how you took the part of winter I hate most and made it into advice to just stay inside and enjoy the warmth of your home. The pizza was a great bonus! I too chose December but for a different reason. (not posted yet) It's not even my birthday month but it's probably the best one for me (for nostalgia)

G'day Tom … great advice Tom. We've just enjoyed the shortest day with a light frost, but we don't have snow, thank God. You wrote this really well Tom, but I did shiver at the thought of your winters - thanks Tom - Lindsay

Thank you Lindsay, often a big fall of snow brings the country to its knees and everywhere has to shut down, kids especially love it. Tom
