Dear Santa

Poor Santa Claus encountered a delay
There was thick fog that made him lose his way
          He went on yellow pages
Then spent some of his wages
A gps he ordered for his sleigh.

Santa dotes on his true love – his missus
Even though she can be so suspicious
But he knows that with a kiss
He can fill her heart with bliss
In return she bakes him pies – delicious!

On Christmas night his tour was much in doubt
Because he ached all over due to gout
          He thought of his appointments
          Would not have disappointments
On Christmas night he dished his presents out.

[Let us spare a thought for Santa, come Christmas night;
in spite of all his problems and setbacks he still delivers!]

G'day Paul... I know I'm a little late for Christmas Paul, but I still enjoyed your set of Limericks on Santa. He's got a big job to do and gout does tend to curtail climbing down chimneys. Thank you Paul - Lindsay

Hi Andrea, when you have a ten year old granddaughter in the house it's impossible not to revive the Christmas spirit! Together we've made a crib and this weekend we'll be decorating the rest of the house. She makes me feel young again:) // paul

LOL Loved reading this limerick, Paul. Very witty and surely it paints the character of Santa just as he is in our hearts. And who doesn't like a man who "delivers!"? Best wishes in the contest. Just stopping by briefly. There is a line waiting to use this computer. :( Love, Carolyn

Cute and funny. The thought of Saint Nick flipping through the yellow pages gave me a chuckle - and even your ending note continued the wit! Delivered, indeed.
