Dear John,

I’m saddened to note the poem I wrote for your contest - “Why the Boat Wouldn’t Float for Billy the Goat” (though I hate to gloat or self-promote) which reads so smooth the throat feels the coat of honey’s thick antidote - confused for an oat got sunk by a goat . This was a great challenge, John. Thanks for tasking us with it. There was tons of value just in the simple exercise of trying to not split the line with the internal rhyme. It's something I'll probably try again in the future

Man, Phillip, I must say this is by far the funniest, if not the best I've seen for the contest. The "Dear John" alone made me LOL. Good luck!

If I saved the original version of the Dear John poem I'll email it to you. It reads like a gay porn until I declare he can kiss my ass with such ridiculous rhyme schemes. I couldn't post it because too many words in it rhymed with "yuck"
