Dear Husband

Dear Husband,
sometimes I am so crazy I forget who I am,
I scream and I cry and I throw things,
I over react, my mind twists your meanings
I accuse you of being a stranger,
thoughtlessly throwing my words against you.
You stand there, and take my battle cry,
Smile and take me by the face,
Pressing your love against my lips.
You grab me, solid against the wall of your body,
and crush the fight from my breath with your hug.
You remind me that home -
is where our family is,
no matter what four walls hold us,
no matter if the food is smaller than the pile of bills,
no matter if the people we are today,
are different than the people we were before.
You my love are my solid oak tree,
standing thousands of years before me,
tall, strong, withstanding,
you whisper against my cheek,
that you will always withstand my storms,
your arms will always be open to my crazy,
your love with always be carved with my name.
The crazy slides off me like a skin,
I am standing in your arms,
I can breathe once again.
Dear Husband,
thank you for loving me.
