One day, without warning, or at least any warning you paid attention to, you realize you are going to see that other side sooner rather than later. But we all will. It is what it is!
Heart, you have been good to me. For ninety-some years you have Beat steadily and faithfully. I can hardly complain when You finally begin to get tired And start missing some beats and then run too fast to try to catch up with yourself. Some days you are just weary And want me to stay in bed. You now give me a little music When I walk too fast, Sort of a whistly wheeze. Is that to compensate a bit For making me short of breath? I will try to be patient with you And wear support stockings To help you out a little. We are getting old together.
