Dear Diary

Today I woke up with one foot steady To tackle routines of another day More tired than normal but eveready To conquer all obstacles in my way I left for work and daily chores I smiled and greeted the morning sun I sang through traffic and crowds of scores And tried to lift spirits of everyone The frowns on their faces were tired The day started dragging its feet Contagiousness turned and backfired Damaged time wings admitted defeat I think it flew blindly into dusk break Scented aroma soaking in bubbles Plurally soothing the tiredness aches Dreary bones, muscles and troubles In reaping rewards for what I now sow Others find peace by not being drones Shall fortunate me keep doing what I know Preferring no boredom or being alone Although this is life, I cannot lie Slaving survival, does this define living? To hopefully retire before I die While breaking my back seems so unforgiving
