Dear Dark Friend

Creaky door opening from one blackened room
To another
Something enters
Looms
Warm breath on your neck

You
Business leaders
Are the first to go
The most susceptible
To my thoughts about your future

Hold out your hands
What do you feel?
Yes that’s it a carrot and stick
Now feel the blade of steel to your throat

My friend

So maybe your side gig
Running your newspaper platform or TV network
Should tone it down right now just a little innocent bit?

Take a stand?

I’d suggest you shouldn’t get into the mess
It’d be all too easy to get tripped up
Pushed over in the dark
And it’s not so easy to find your legs underneath you
When you’re blind

Know what I mean?

I don’t even require of you to say anything out loud
Just think my thoughts to yourself
There you go
Don’t worry about the rest

Just give me obeyance of money in the form of
Shut up
Do not object
That’s all you have to do sweet CEO
To remain rich perhaps richer than ever
Or to remain
Well
What can I say?
Alive
If I were to be at first freely elected

The sheep will follow the smell of your profits
The sight of your voicelessness
The caress of your couragelessness

That’s it
You’re brave my friend

Stand there in the dark
All you have to do is wait for it
The creaking door

Let me in
Let me pass you by

I’ll make the decisions
And no one will notice

Our dark beginning.
