Dead Skunk Season

After driving for miles on the highway,
I noticed a lump near my driveway:
a black and white chunk,
"Omigosh! It's a skunk
and he's gone to the 'Sweet By and By' way!"

I could tell it was dead because he
gave off a real hum. It was funky!
It was reeky and rank;
it was stale and it stank
and the stench of it really repulsed me!

Thanks, Terry. But I sincerely hope you will enjoy your supper, thoughts of skunks notwithstanding! Take care. Jim

Ewwww. I'd hate to have a dead skunk in my driveway. For the inconvenience and the nasty smell of the skunk, that was I apologize. For the great rhyming and cute little silly poem, congratulations on your win in my contest.

Hi, Miranda. Thank you very much for the placement. I appreciate it. I should tell you, however, that in my part of Canada (Newfoundland) there are no skunks (or snakes, possums or porcupines)! Nevertheless, I have encountered them in my travels and their smell is vile and unmistakable! Thanks again. Take care.
