De-Snowing the Car

Start the engine; hit defrost. Find your scraper brush. Swipe the windows first as you Get rid of all the mush. Clean the mirrors and the lights; Don’t forget the roof. You can get a ticket With the snow up top as proof. Get behind the steering wheel; Hit the gas and move Back and forth until you’ve made A likely exit groove. Shut the engine; lock the doors. Some peace of mind you’ve bought Until the snow plows block you in, Your efforts all for naught.

Oh what I wouldn't do for some snow at the moment, I wouldn't care about scraping etc. snow and ice off the car can't be any worse than getting a boiling hot car as here it can be up to 50c inside our cars on a hot day and that is what it is like at the moment, I love your poems as they do put a smile on my face, thank you so much for sharing them and take care.........Vera

My fave line is "A likely exit groove". What a stellar description of something I've done zillions of times in my life! Sometimes I even managed to exit;-) My sympathies to you ilene. I don't miss that white stuff at all. Sooooo glad we chose to go south this winter. Cheers 'n chips (ice). ~ john

Bummer! Very funny, Mrs Ilene. I do not envy you northerners when it comes to snow:)I drove an 18 wheeler for 20 years and I have hundreds of snow stories.

Loved your descriptive poem:-) If there is snow I just don't bother driving Ilene I have seen such devastation on the roads here its just not worth it:-( I remember in the really bad snow in 2012 my hubby slept at work for 2 days so he could transport people safely in the 4 x 4:-) hugs Jan xx
