Notes About The Poem
This Acrostic or That Acrostic Contest July 30,2024 Sponsored by Miranda Hawley

Genesis 1:3-5 KJV

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. [4] And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. [5] And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Genesis 1:14-19 KJV

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: [15] And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

[16] And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. [17] And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, [18] And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

[19] And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Daystar

Daylight, a star shines brighter than the sun
Amazed to think before creation had even begun
You see, light was before sun, stars, and moon
So God was the light, before day four, too!
That light shining brilliant in the dark
Arising in and lighting up our weary hearts
Reaching dark places to show us the truth

Correct, that God was the light of Creation before He made the sun in the sky. Fantastic choice of scripture to go with this poem, and congrats on your win in my contest.

Hi Crystol! I love the way you integrate the story of creation and the way God's light leads us every day. Nicely done. Best wishes for the contest. Sending you blessings of the "bright and morning star."

Awe Sam, that's so kind, thank you! I'm so glad you liked this and I'll pray for God's blessings on you too! I love all the names of Christ and what they each mean. Christ meaning the anointed one... so much said in each name! Xo

This is an excellent Acrostic, Crystol, mostly because of the content and your reasoning. God will forever be the 'light'. ~Regards // paul

God was and is the light... Our job, to bring that light down to earth, to pierce the darkness of delusion. Bravo, Gershon
