Days and Days of Rain
the fist, cottony-black clung
madly to the revelation of blue sky,
similar to the wizard of oz
faking it behind the curtain
days and days of rain —
waterlogged puddles
hypodermis of bark exposed
looking like a tortured dog
the woods haggard and gray
the sentila-sun reveals a backroads lake
yet perhaps on further study
it is a road, so slick and wet
the ting-a-ling of a wayward chime
perhaps a summons to the deck
the windows blink their eyes
washed clean
i throw my cerulean raincoat to the side
“Hurray!”
