Day One
Day one crept
gently like
the rising sun.
A theater of dreams;
Unconscious streams
of thoughts,
Led by the frowns
of clowns.
Endless chains of heroes
on parade;
Disposable cowards
in a charade,
Bowed their heads
and crowned a madman
Again and again.
Through a reign of pain
tired minds had tried,
un-tired, retired.
A fool discovered
that hope lasts longer
between stretches
of hunger.
But nobody listened.
They haven't learned
from day one.
By the setting sun,
it's gone.
Today began.
