Day of the Triffids- Dragon Style

Dragon snuck in with the Basement Trolls, to watch a movie, one fine night. They watched “The Day of the Triffids”, unbeknownst to us, creating our plight. The next morning all Heck broke loose as we piled in our truck to go to town. Farmer Brown’s fields had grown up almost over night, after a rain came down. Dragon is 3 years old, so had seen a year in wheat, one in soybeans and now in corn. Yep, you know where this is a going, as our trucks wake moved the corn all around. “The Day of the Triffids, to Dragon’s greatest horror, had so seriously been reborn. Everywhere Dragon looked, there were endless rows of corn, all the way into town. Now Dragon didn’t panic immediately, at first he hid under his super hero cape. He kept shushing for all of us to be quiet, absolutely, now, before it was too late! Then he barricaded us in the grocery store, while we shopped, he had used the carts. Next he kidnapped the whole town, his nemesis, the Sheriff of CrazyLand, to start! Tho as he explained to all, about the Triffids, he did shove the Sheriff out the door. Of course, no one took him seriously, as the store kept leaking people everywhere. So Dragon took the Sheriff for a ride, to reconnoiter, against those devious Triffid foes. While doing so Dragon spotted a man, out standing in those dangerous fields, alone. So Dragon zeroed into the poor feller, diving to save the poor, soon to be eaten dear. When he got back to the grocer, the Sheriff showed him that they’d saved a scarecrow. But to Dragon, the clothes proved, this had been his friend, Farmer Brown. EEWW! And being the only True Hero, he knew he would have to alone, save the town, true! Dragon fired up his flame, to burn up his evil Triffid foes, all the way to their toes. No! He wouldn’t listen to the Sheriff of Crazyland’s explaination of how it goes. No! These could not be rolls of corn but instead waves of Triffids standing around. As the local hero he knew what he must do… save the world before it was cut down. But as he fired the first field, a popping sound emerged, as he was pummeled, so sound. He was right, he knew, as the frightening Triffids started hitting him from all around. The more he fired them up, the more he was being pummeled and weighted down… Indeed, they weighted his wings so much… That he was brought to the very ground! Yep, no matter how much he struggled, he finally found himself, almost nearly drown! In the end, there he sat neck high… in ye old delicious… scrumpdillious pop corn. Then Farmer Brown arrived, making Dragon happy, for he was obviously, still alive. Amazingly, Farmer Brown was not at all unhappy, he had insured his crop to survive. After all, who is there that lives next door to our dear, sweet Dragon, who would not? In fact, that day a new brand of “Dragon Fire Pop Corn”… was definitely, then, born. So everyone come… and get it… While it’s HOT! And to think it all started when… The Day of the Triffids came along… Well, why not, with our Dragon saving us again. HAHAHA! Well, sure enough, it could've been a Triffid invasion; you can't blame a dragon for feeling defensive. Enjoyed this read.

You've made me split my sides with laughter; I can see Dragon in that field of popcorn up to his neck. Just another hazard of being a dragon; thanks for the fun.
