David Cameron and the Middle Class Lass

David Cameron and The Middle Class Lass She was ‘ordinary’, ‘middle class’ a ‘one of us’ kind of lass Or at least that’s how she was presented through the rose tinted glass And the message that was there was hope for us all That we too could go to the ball And we watched and watched and waited and waited And she even earned the nick-name ‘Waitie Katie’ But somehow despite this perfect vision We weren’t allowed to hear Because when she spoke it was loud and clear That this middle class lass The one we had only spied through the rose tinted glass Was nothing of the sort (And thinking for oneself is something that we are no longer taught) Then the lone voice of Hilary Mantel spoke And it seemed like the window was about to be broke But her saviour, Mr Cameron, did not wait Or hesitate He knew just what to do to preserve the myth He simply called her Princess Kate.
