Darkness Is Salvation

Dark skies with thick clouds
Hang heavy in the air
Searching something missing
Lantern in her hand

Missing is the love she lost
Which used to be so bright
It was so warm and sunny inside
No man could dim it out

Now she seeks comfort
While the rest of the world is asleep
The moon that shows her the path
Is her truest but darkest friend

Lost in the fog of her mind
She searches endlessly
Growing more tired by the steps
Of her fragile, bruised, bare feet

Forever she'll continue this path
She knows it's her only salvation
Because darkness is a temporary thing
When love is what you're seeking
