Dark Woods 1
DARK WOODS
What use is this effusiveness
over and above the persistent voices
words can’t be axes that fell
this lush darkness. This is
another removal from boredom
could also be a rarified racial totem
refusing to fade from the air
this display of green exuberance
is because bareness just can’t weep
its tangled space ever set on
a tryst with a rare resonance
shedding is the language of grief
shades of dark its sacred brief
where shadows stay stunned
laying trust in the dark. Not in
a foreboding cluster of lit-up words.
