Dark is the night, But, it is there that I found the quiet, Still, cool and gentle, Feeling so sentimental, Inviting me to breathe in… The music of hope and peace, The whisper of grace that agrees… This night is a journey of belief. Dark is the night, Trembling with its silence, Abiding on the soul, Beautiful and furiously alive… Soundless in its beauty, But, despondent – still so sure There is a reason and a purpose, A certainty that never fears, A wonderful despite the tears. Dark is the night, Moonlight glowing, soothing Away the burdens of light, When treasures risk the music, Playing inside, Harmonizing with grace and hope, Stirring the feelings to gold, Gentling the moments, Treasures – I know… Treasures of glistening gold. Dark is the night, Sighing as it shines and shines, A miracle and a sign, Outlasting the nocturnal, Where everything reminds my heart Forever is rising, just beyond… The grace that believes, The faith that agrees… This love is blessing me. Yes, this love is blessing me! Dark is the night, Fading like a setting sun, Soon, the stars will be strewn… Below its breathless story, Rising, bringing so much glory. Wherever she shines, radiant, Like a moment who glistens With light, furiously alive, flattering Every night with its brilliance, Its peace just as beautiful, A piece of perfect… Dark is the night, While even the shadows Fight to decide… Where it is that peace abides, In the skies, so alive With lustrous stars, promises, wishes, Meanings that portray All the sincerity in a silence, All the beauty in the quiet, All the wonder of night’s calming. Dark is the night… Who decides what is right, Will the moon shed her light? So, in my heart, I can finally decide – Dark is the night… But bright, so bright Is the light that shines, Just glowing, High up in the sky – moon Always slowing, So hearts take a moment to sigh, Sigh as the light smiles, Erasing the fears, the tears, Assuring the soul that His love, A lasting love – assures. Dark is the night, While a whisper of light Brings grace to abide, Silencing bleakest skies. Dark is the night, Dusk soon decides that this life, Despite its shadows, its fear – Will soon be dazed by the night, With its dreamy attire, Its mysterious insight, its light Who decides – the SON will reveal… Even in the night, these wonders so real!

I love how you repeated "Dark is the Night." Doing so anchored your poem and gave it strength. You've beautifully described both aspects of the 'night' (light and shadow) and the ending was just a delightful crescendo. Have a blessed week, Sara
