Dark Before
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." 1Peter 2:9-10 of the King James Bible
Dark avenues in my life, I'm aware
Leading me to failure, I must beware...
Such are arenas for daily conquest
Putting faith to test amidst chosen best.
Dark past of gloominess, I do confess
Attacks me in my moving on process…
Discipline for well-being should prevail
That I need to practice, though sometimes fail.
From dark plight to truth’s light, my mind does cleave
Hypocrisy’s ordeal, so blurred, I leave…
In so fulfilling, I struggle in pain
As heart trusts the Lord for blest pardon-gain.
Turning against dark skepticism-creed
Toward radiance of reaching-out deed…
My soul admits human weakness and flaw
While thriving in peace, learning from guilt’s claw.
Bidding adieu to dark carnal nature
My spirit seeks to live as new creature…
In Christ, quickened by His grace, mercy, love
Doing God’s will, sharing gift from above.
