Danny and Me
Days gone by,
happy days floated away,
to a sweet land of harmony,
rock n' roll there was no other
to listen to, it touched us so deeply.
Dion and the Belmonts,
no one could out do them,
"Runaround Sue", "The Wanderer",
Who could sing it better than the great one"
"Ruby Baby" got you going into outer space.
Danny and me loved that music,
at Marshall's music room, we spent
our Saturday's there, it was our home
away from home.
We used to listen to the top 40,
and not stop listening until the
last song had been played,
back in 1957 was a great
time to be young.
Danny passed away last year,
will miss him dearly, my
it won't be the same,
no more phone calls
to ask him do you remember
when this or that happened?
Our youth is so special
it only last for a short time,
and it's gone, never to come
back to us.
